Seeing the leaves of trees change colors, fall down like rain or dance with the wind is a magnificent, natural, theatrical spectacle. The sudden change that leaves tall trees empty and almost lifeless, makes me think about life and its cycle.

Life is colorful and beautiful. It is also sad and gloomy sometimes. Not to mention that it can be messy. Just like the Universe we are part of, full of light and also darkness, with a balance that is almost perfect.

It is exactly what I see when I walk the streets and observe the contrasts of colors and the uniformity of trees; there's perfection in them. Also, the sheets of leaves with a distinctive spectrum. Layers and layers piled up in gardens or the pavement, like a glamorous premonition of what is to come next.

The cycle of human life is as beautiful as the different seasons. You have Spring, where everything blossoms and comes to life. You have Summer, where everything grows and reaches its potential. You have Fall, where everything shines and then starts to decline. Lastly you have Winter, where everything goes dormant and some never wake up.

To me, Fall is the most important one. It is here where we must decide if we go quiescent or keep moving forward. Just as we start feeling older and some health complications may arise; it is then when we must get back up and say “not yet, we have to live the Winter”. As human beings we are built to complete a cycle. It is our mission, and should be, like flowers or trees have theirs. Be born of a seed, grow, blossom, and then plant your own; see them grow, help it as much as you can, and even after you fall unconscious, leave your roots behind.
